Grant Macaskill

Grant Macaskill is the Kirby Laing Chair of New Testament Exegesis at the University of Aberdeen, having previously taught at the University of St Andrews. He is the author of several academic monographs on the New Testament and Early Judaism (including “Union with Christ in the New Testament,” Oxford University Press, 2013, and “The New Testament and Intellectual Humility,” Oxford University Press, 2018). He was formally diagnosed as autistic in 2020 and has written several articles and a monograph (“Autism and the Church: Bible, Theology and Community,” Baylor University Press, 2019) that have been shaped by his experience. He instigated the establishment of the Centre for the Study of Autism and Theology in Aberdeen, which is now co-directed by Léon van Ommen.
