Kirstyn Rachel Oliver

I am an Autism Outreach worker with nine years experience working alongside autistic people and their families in a variety of settings. Mainstream and SEN schools, at home, church and in the community. I have worked as a therapeutic companion, a teaching assistant, and a behaviour therapist both in England and Brazil. Currently, I am the children and families autism outreach worker for a church in south London. I graduated from the University of Kent with a Masters Degree in Autism Studies. My interest in the spiritual needs of autistic people began whilst researching about Faith, Spirituality and Autistic People. Being the inquisitive person I am, I searched for answers regarding the lack of support, autistic people received in relation to their spiritual needs and their personal development of faith. This led to founding Alma Autism. The mission is to support autistic people in fulfilling their spiritual needs by providing training, workshops and events to expand awareness and acceptance within the church and wider community. Additionally, walk alongside autistic people and their families, holistically, listening to their voices, opinions and needs.
